The information in this article is in regards to joining the United States business of New Avon, LLC. First and foremost, when you sign up to become an Avon Representative online, you are signing up to be an Independent Avon Representative. This means that you are an individual selling New Avon products who has agreed to the Independent Sales Representative Contract and not an employee of New Avon. New Avon is a direct sales opportunity which gives you the chance to work your own business as an Independent Distributor of products which are well known and credible! If you were to start your own business with your own products, you would be expected to do all of the marketing, figure out how you would distribute the products, etc. Direct Sales is a great opportunity to start your own business at a minimal cost. In fact, at the time of this posting, you can Sell Avon for as low as $25! In this article, I will answer some of the most frequently asked questions about Selling Avon. My answers are based on how things are as of September 2017.

  2. Fill out the required information and
  3. Follow the on screen prompts to select your starter kit and get going!

What is the reference code when signing up online?

When you enter the reference code above, that will allow you to join Avon Team A-Mazing Reps and link you to me as your mentor and guide so I can help you in your Avon journey. When you sign-up without entering a reference code, you are randomly assigned a mentor.

What is a mentor?

A mentor is an Independent Avon Representative who is a sales leader and helps train their team to be successful by helping whenever an Independent Avon Representative requests help. The mentor is another branch of support separate from the corporate business. Statistics show that when Independent Consultants have someone to follow and look up to as well as go to with questions and requests for help they are more successful in their own businesses. This is why New Avon makes sure all representatives are paired with a mentor. The way you can select your mentor is to enter their reference code when you sign-up online. I have been an Avon Representative in the United States for six years and I have a lot of resources when it comes to looking for ways to grow your business.

How does Selling Avon work?

What is a campaign?

Avon has always run the sales part of the business based off of two week campaigns. Each campaign is assigned a number 1-26 and each calendar year has 26 campaigns. Each campaign there is a new brochure of products as well as new offerings online at your representative online store. We place our representative orders based on the campaign and our sales are tracked by campaign. When you join Avon, you are assigned an RPS (Representative Processing Schedule) which will tell you when your representative orders are due. You can place your orders online or using an Automated phone system called FAST talk. Most representatives utilize the online capability as that is easiest.

How much does it cost to start Selling Avon?

As of September 2017, you have three kit options. They cost $25, $50, and $100. You choose which kit you’d like to start with. No matter which kit you choose, you can be successful and easily earn your start up fee back. You will be provided with a free online store for online sales as part of your sign-up fee.

Do I have to sign-up to Sell Avon with a local Avon Representative?

Definitely not! With technology you can still receive the support needed from your Mentor (the person you sign-up with) as well as support from the corporate business of New Avon, LLC and other representatives from across the country. Avon does provide a Find A Rep tool that will allow you to find someone local to you if that is what you prefer. The goal when looking to find someone to sign up with should be to try to find someone that you think you can get along with and go to for help. Also remember that you are signing up to start your own business and the mentor is only a small part of that as an extra leg of support. For your reference I am an Avon Rep in Richmond, VA.

Do I have to meet a sales quota with New Avon?

Nope. As of September 2017, there are no quotas. The only requirement to remain an active representative is to have orders coming through your online store or to place your own orders every two months. If you go four campaigns without any online orders or placing an order yourself you will be considered inactive. To reactivate the account you can either place an order yourself or have someone order from your online store within 26 campaigns. After a full year (26 campaigns), your account with New Avon will be fully removed. Please make sure your Avon bill is up to date and paid in full so that your account will not become delinquent.

Will I have an Avon sales territory?

No. Avon has not had territories in many years. You can sell Avon wherever you wish in your local area. With your online store you can sell Avon throughout the entire United States!

Are there any other costs associated with Selling Avon?

If you choose to order brochures and sales tools, you will be expected to pay for those tools. Some representatives choose to sell online only in order to avoid these extra costs. Avon will not require you to purchase anything beyond your starter kit, but to keep your business going you will most likely want to purchase business cards, brochures, samples, etc. I recommend purchasing samples as requested by customers or if you have a plan to sell a particular product and want your customers and potential customers to try it. Brochures start as low as $6.49 for a pack of 10 and the individual cost goes down the more brochures you purchase. You will be charged a shipping fee when you place your own orders either online or through FAST talk. This cost is based on the size of the order.

Does New Avon provide training?

Yes! There are many training resources available from videos to things to read and the training is about to get better! Plus, Avon offers online webinars for free to representatives. Plus, your mentor is there to help train you and answer questions as they come up as well. You will get your first set of training materials with your starter kit as well as materials available online.

How much do you make Selling Avon?

That depends on you! You will earn commissions based on your sales in a given campaign. You also earn when you build your team and bring in new representatives signed up with you. There are many representatives out there making six figures as well as many that while they are not making six figures they are earning enough to make a full time income. Your earnings potential is unlimited!

How do I get paid for Selling Avon?

When you place your representative orders online or with FAST talk Avon will only charge you based on your commission level.

Get customer orders–collect payment–order from Avon–pay Avon–keep the remaining money as your commission

You can setup direct deposit for online orders or your online order commission will be credited to your Avon account and deducted from the amount you owe Avon for your representative orders. If you choose to setup direct deposit, you must not owe Avon any money and your online commissions will be credited to your bank account twice a month, if you owe Avon money the commissions will just be deducted from your account balance and not direct deposited.

As of September 2017, you earn the same commissions from your face to face personal sales as well as your online sales in a given campaign! Avon will total your sales from your personal order and online sales from the campaign to determine your commission level for the given campaign.
